ECOLOGIA is a 501(c)(3) organization. In order to guarantee that contributions to the Virtual Foundation will be tax deductible, ECOLOGIA is required to implement and announce the following policy:
The ECOLOGIA Board of Directors ultimately exercises absolute and exclusive control over how donations to the organization are allocated.This is an IRS requirement which resulted from a 1938 Congressional action designed to discourage Americans from sending gifts to foreign organizations. Please do not let it discourage you from donating to a worthy overseas project or from clearly indicating where you would like your donation to be applied.
