The "Rostok" ground decided to implement the project in two phases: an autumn and a spring one. In order to ensure the highest survival of the saplings we decided to conduct a major part of planting in spring, and to use planting in autumn as a kind of "training."
We started with identifying a suitable place of planting and with getting necessary permissions from appropriate authorities. Then we investigated possible sources of buying saplings and its transporting. Also, we made an advertising campaign using leaflets.
When everything was ready, we designated the October 22th as a day of planting (taking into account a weather forecast) and started the operation. As a result of it, we planted up to 100 saplings - most of them here willows (80) and the rest - rowans in the area which borders the crossroads of the streets "Sovetskaya" and "Naberezhnaya F. Skaryny." The planting process was attended by the correspondent of the local newspaper "Narodnaya Tribuna" and comprehensive filming was also performed (pictures and copies of the article will be provided together with the final report).
We faced some unforeseen difficulties - such as the higher than previously estimated cost of saplings, and relatively poor choice of the possible sapling' suppliers. But in general our operation worked quiet well and we hope for a good continuation of it in spring.
