Organization:
CSOP is a well known environmental organization in the Czech Republic, established in 1978 with around 800 local chapters. The local chapter of CSOP in Studenka has 19 members. Our group is active in nature conservation in North Moravia in the Ondra watershed. We have very good contacts with the local government in Studenka, and it also partially supports our group's activities.

Project Description:
The main goal of the project is to make the first steps for landscape revitalization in our region. The main damage to our landscape has been done by agricultural activities; our area has also been greatly polluted by heavy industries and coal mines. The CSOP wants to include other public organization into our Landscape project and to develop guidelines for similar activities in other parts of the country.

Our approach to landscape revitalization is to plant, and then to manage, bio-corridors and bio-centers. This is part of the regional EECONET concept supported by IUCN in Europe. This activity is very unique in the Czech Republic since this is the first effort in the country aimed at actual development of an ecological network (EECONET).

Outcomes:
More than 3000 meters of bio-corridors will be planted; part of an old landfill will be reforested; for the future bio-center, seeds of local trees will be collected.
