Alene N. Case is an ecologist, a farmer, and an environmental writer. She
is a partner with her son, Berit, in Blue Bell Farm, Wapwallopen Pennsylvania. Together, the family
raises a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and fruits in a sustainable
manner. Blue Bell Farm is also a participant in Community Supported Agriculture. Alene and her husband, Professor Mike Case, enjoy birdwatching
and
travelling. They belong to the North Branch (PA) Land Trust, the Audubon Society, and other
environmental organizations. Alene also enjoys singing in her church
choir (the Church of Christ Uniting).
Alene worked with ECOLOGIA from 1992-1997 on the Environmental Monitoring Network and has been a member of the Virtual Foundation Proposal Review Committee since 1996.
